The record button has always been my best friend. As a kid I used to record voices just so I had a memory of what a particular person sounded like. Like taking a photo, it captures a point in time that is unique to that specific moment when you pressed the button.
Once I discovered you could record music there was no stopping me. Recording songs off the TV & radio turned into recording tapes and records. Recording tapes and records turned into making compilation tapes. Making compilation tapes turned into (with help of Technics 1200s) recording mixes.
The tapes, the CDs, the mini-discs have all come and gone, and MP3 is (for now) the format of choice. But, no matter what the format, there is and always will be the record button staring at me unblinkingly with it’s one red eye willing me to push it.
What you find here is the result of me giving in to the button.

do you have a copy of the birthday mix you did that you put on doa? think it has “stelfs birthday mix” or something like that?
Was that Stelf’s Birthday mix?
If so I think I do. I’ll dig it out if you want. 🙂
Yeah that’s the mix. Wouldn’t mind getting a copy 😉
All of your mixes i’ve heard so far are definitely great! At the moment beside Komatic and Impressions you are one of my favorite record selector!
Thanks very much. I have a few Komatic mixes, but haven’t heard any Impressions. I’ll have to check these out.
Check Impressions Soundcloud account. Only 3 mixes but i think he is one of the best on the liquid front. http://soundcloud.com/impression
Awesome blog, thanks a lot. It’d be even better if the tunes were separated in a rar file!
Do you mean the tunes in the mix sets, or the free tunes I occasionally post up?
I first heard DnB in the middle of the ninetees and I hear and love it still these days. I`ve recorded a lot of that well known artists from CD and Digital-Receiver on Mini-Disc.I thank you very deep for your mixes, – it saves a lot of trouble to me to get it on PC.
Please Excuse my bad english, – I`m fromGermany.

Seriously, you are one of the most amazing djs around! Discovered you 5 years ago and a am a fan since. Many hours of pleasure tahnks to you! Come to berlin! Jonathan
Thanks for the high praise. I don’t DJ out much any more and really do it just for the love of it, so getting comments like this make all worth while.
I may be coming to Berlin next year in October so if that happens I’ll try and let you know.
Hey Woz, cobbie here. Hit me up on my email and let me know how you’re getting on!
Downloading a load of your mixes now. Not been listenning to much D&B in the last couple of years (still love it but loving lots of other styles as well) so this will be an education for me!
big fan of the mixes! perfect study tunes! do you have a facebook page?
Cheers very much. Not a fan of FB unfortunately (who is?). If you add this site to an RSS feed type thing it will alert you when the new mixes go up.
I loved the Helsinki to Hampshire quad you shared. Omni Trio still compose! Worth the 4 quid I sent them. );o)
